Sudoku Owl is a sudoku game for Android and iOS made by Muhammed Elşami. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have.
In short: Sudoku Owl has no account of its own, your games stay on your phone, and the only data that leaves it goes to Google services for ads, anonymous usage statistics, crash reports, notifications and, if you choose to sign in, Google Play Games leaderboards and achievements.
Data that stays on your device
The app keeps your settings, the game in progress, your finished games (difficulty, time, mistakes, hints and date) and your daily puzzle history in a database on your phone. Statistics, streaks and badges are calculated from it. This data is never sent to us, and it is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. If you sign in to Google Play Games, your best times and achievements also go to Google (see below).
Daily reminders are scheduled by your phone itself; no server is involved.
Data we do not collect
- Your name, email address, phone number or any account details: the app has no account of its own. Signing in to Google Play Games is optional and handled by Google.
- Your precise location.
- Your contacts, photos or files.
- Your payment card details: purchases are handled by the store.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and paid for by ads shown by Google AdMob: a full-screen ad after some finished games, and videos you choose to watch for a second chance, an extra hint or a past daily puzzle. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (Android advertising ID or Apple IDFA), your IP address and an approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before ads may be personalised. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options. On iPhone, the advertising identifier is available only if you allow tracking when asked.
Buying Remove ads or Premium turns off the full-screen ads. Videos stay available, and play only when you ask for them.
Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)
To learn which features are used and where players get stuck, the app sends events to Google Firebase Analytics: a game started or finished (difficulty, daily or classic, duration, mistakes and hints used), the tutorial started or completed, a video watched to the end, and which screens are opened. Firebase also records an app instance ID, the device model, operating system and app version, the language, the country derived from the IP address, and when the app was first opened and used.
These events are not linked to your name, email or any account.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes or hits a serious error, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report with the error and where in the code it happened, the device model, operating system and app version, the device state at that moment (such as free memory and orientation) and a random installation identifier. We use these reports only to find and fix bugs.
Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
To receive occasional announcements, the app registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging, which gives your installation a random token. Notifications appear only if you allow them, and the app asks for that permission only when you turn on the daily reminder.
Leaderboards and achievements (Google Play Games, Android)
On Android you can sign in to Google Play Games to compare your best times on leaderboards and earn achievements. Signing in is optional: the app asks only when you open the leaderboards or achievements from Statistics, and Play Games may sign you in on its own if you already use it with other games.
While you are signed in, the app sends Google Play Games your Play Games player ID, your best time on each level (only games played without hints) and the achievements you unlock, such as your first solved puzzle or a 7-day streak. Other players can see your Play Games name, avatar, scores and achievements as your Play Games profile settings allow. Google Play Games also collects its own usage and diagnostic data to run the service. The app does not receive your email address.
Purchases
Remove ads, Theme pack and Premium are sold through Google Play or the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by the store under its own terms. Each time it starts, the app asks the store which items you own; it does not keep its own record of purchases.
How long data is kept
- On your device: until you uninstall the app or clear its data.
- Firebase Analytics: at most 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Crashlytics: 90 days.
- AdMob: as described in Google's privacy policy.
- Google Play Games: until you delete it from your Play Games profile or Google Account.
Your choices and rights
- Change your ad consent in Settings → Privacy options.
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's settings.
- Turn notifications off in your phone's settings.
- Sign out of Google Play Games, change who sees your profile, or delete your Play Games data in the Play Games app or at myaccount.google.com.

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, the KVKK in Türkiye or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. Write to muhammed97r@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Children
Sudoku Owl is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
